Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Matte Lipstick in One of the Boyz Review

I’ve been meaning to write this review, as this came with my other Fenty Hyperglitz lipstick. This is of course a Mattemoiselle Plush Lipstick in this beautiful bright lilac shade. I’ve been wanting to try this color out for a while and I was really happy I did. So lets check out the packaging and the swatches.

It looks a bit lighter here but its definitely brighter on my face.

So the actual color is similar to my Jeffree Star Liquid Blow Pony lipstick. Here’s the review if you would like to compare here. Its a really nice bright lilac color, I didn’t have any problems with streakiness or fading. And it wore on my lips for a good 8 hours. There’s no scent , and the lipstick itself spread fairly easy for a matte lip. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this color or formula, as its very consistent with my last mattemoiselle  in Ya Dig. My only problem was really the size as I would like this to be bigger. I do think its a nice more comfortable alternative to Blow Pony though as the color is similar.

Its definitely vibrant on the lips!

I decided to pair this shade with some Sugarpill shadows as well for maximum effect!

So yeah I know its a very short review, but this lipstick really performed well for me. I think if you want kind of unusual lilac shade this is a great lipstick ! Also those wanting a shade like Blow Pony( Liquid Velour) and want an alternative to Jeffree Star, I think this is very close and definitely less drying. Also it looks like all of the Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks have dropped down to $12.50 , so if you were curious to try a few shades now would be a great time. I’m not sure exactly why they are on sale, but maybe its to get product out of the warehouses and stores.

Also I’m aware of the buying from black owned businesses challenge in the beauty community , I honestly wasn’t sure if Fenty themselves counted as I wasn’t sure if Rihanna herself owned the company. But I did some digging online and found that she does own it but it has a parent company owned by Kendra(Sephora) so I’m not really sure that this counts. But Rihanna has donated money to the bailproject and to BLM Greater NY and various other charities.  I personally really like the brand as there seems to diversity in the models as well as tons of colors in their lines that appeal to me. I still have yet to try their foundation as I’m a little shy of liquid foundations. But hey maybe in the future. Well I still have more reviews to post as I’ve been slacking off haha so have a good week everyone and take care.

  1. I am actually really glad you chose this color and did this post. I love purple lipsticks, and I thought I’d love this one too for myself. But now that I am seeing it, you are correct, it’s very much a lilac, great description. And, as such, it’s a little too on the pastel side for me personally. Looks great! LOOOOVE it with your hair color!

      1. I had ordered it and was set to arrive last weekend but the idiot delivery person delivered it to the wrong house and I never saw it so I had to call Sephora for a refund. Now that I have my money back I don’t know if I should just go in store instead or try again and buy it online and hope it gets delivered to my house.
